Ayashi No Ceres
By KRis 26th Apr 04 After a long break of anime, coming back is weird. What to watch, what to watch. Luckily I found a good title. Ayashi No Ceres? What's that about? Fine, I'll watch. That's what lead me to watching this. (Weird eh?). I know you aren't quite as willing as me, so that's why I bring you ANOTHER review. If you read any other Ayashi No Ceres review, people will tell you it's about a heavengly maiden that was taking a bath and a man stole her feather robe. So what right? Apparently she can't go back to heaven without it. So she ends up marrying the man. But he never gave it back. So she stayed on earth and died. That's where most reviewers stop their story description. THAT'S NOT THE FUCKING STORY!!!!! I know that's like what INTRODUCES you to the series, but still. Here is the REAL deal. So even though the maiden died, she still lives within her processor's blood line. A girl named Aya seems to be the one fit to bring back Ceres, (the heavengly maiden). But Ceres is not the only one who will come back. The man who stole her feathered robe also is reborn in Aya's twin brother Aki. And so goes the war. That would be the BEST way to describe the plot. It's one of those series that sound dumb when you try to explain. (That seems to be happening a lot lately, : / ). It took me a few episodes to get into it, but after that I couldn't stop watching. It really is that good. The characters, the plot, everything was great. One thing I didn't understand was why the fuck it's called a feathered robe. It's not feathered and it's not even a robe! Nonsense to me. Typical ending, nothing too special. It pleased me none the less. After all these romancy anime I've been watching, I’m pretty sick of this crap. Ayashi No Ceres had a chunk of that too. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it ruins it though, because it’s a deffinent strong point. Art was sharper than usual. Music was sub par. Aya's eyes scared me a bit. Too big, not possible. Which makes me think, imagine we had eyes like anime characters. That would be pretty fucked. Holy crap, BAD DREAMS, BAD DREAMS. If you liked this, I’d recommend Now and Then, Here and There. 7/10
