Gundam Wing

Well, Well how do I begin with this awesome series known as... Gundam Wing, unfortunately the first time this was shown to me (On Cartoon Network) I thought it was a load of crap and absolutely boring... boy was I totally wrong. My friend told me about the final episode, it was just amazing, I then found the first 4 episodes of gundam wing of the net and thats when my obsession with this series started.

Originally Earth shipped people to colonies to prevent the world from overpopulating. War is constant on earth while the colonies know only of peace, AC 175 (after conlony) the wars on earth finally end. At this point, the Earth government established the "Earth Sphere Unified Alliance". This organization was to promote peace on Earth and throughout the space colonies. Unknown to the general public, the Alliance was only a puppet for the industrialist group, The Romefeller Foundation.

In the so called name of peace, the army for the ESUA also known as Oz took control of all the colonies of outer space and destroyed all that opposed them with awesome Mecha Machines also known as Mobile Dolls. After nearly two decades of this oppression, a group of freedom fighters from the space colonies decide to put an end to the oppression caused by the alliance, With the help of five genius scientists (the same ones who created the first Mobile dolls), Create five supreme fighting machines to add the rebellion.... they are known only as... Gundams.

However due to the advanced technology, used on the Gundams no Ordinary pilot can control these machines. Therefore it was decided to adopt and train five children at a very age, each having there own very distinct personalities. The five young children are better known as Heero Yuy pilot of the Gundam Wing Zero, Duo Maxwell pilot of the Gundam DeathScythe, Quatre Raberba Winner pilot of the Gundam Sandrock, Trowa Barton pilot of the Gundam Heavy Arms and Chang Wufei pilot of the Gundam Shenlong.

Each of the Gundams they pilot have very different skills all being absolutely amazing, my favourite of the Gundams/pilots have to be Duo, DeathScythe and Trowa Barton, because each one being totally different to the other Duo is laidback casual which a melee Gundam, while Trowa is mysterious and weird I mean one of his lines from the series was "You have mistaken me for someone else. I am not Trowa." right... memory trouble of plain stupidity? oh and his Gundam is long range missiles and good old machine guns.

The series itself has a very slow start if you didn't gather from my intro, most of all it is mainly talking and is a very serious anime, I do not recommend this for young kids, I believe that's one of the reasons cartoon network stopped playing it at 5pm. It is also very confusing sometimes which makes it cool in a way. The artwork to gundam wing has a very adult feeling to it as well, I don't know how to describe it, comparing it to a child's anime such as Pokemon it is far more elegant then Pokemon is one way of putting it. The sound is truly stunning the intro to Gundam and ending music is awesome, and the battle music is fast beat action type of music which suits the series a lot, good work from the composers!

On closing Gundam wing is one excellent anime, although it does take awhile to get into it, and you cant sit down and watch bits of it while doing other things you will have to watch the whole lot if you are to understand anything that's going on, the plots are serious and with Heero trying to kill himself every chance he gets you'll know why. Watch it give it a go if you find it too boring or dull then you obviously didn't give it a chance you want pointless action watch something else, otherwise listen to the story and enjoy the Gundam battles, ciao.

9/10
