Gundam Wing

Gundam Wing, probably one of the most well known robot fighting shows of all time. Hey who doesn't like to watch big robots smash each others face in and such, its great television. I mean Battle Bots, Robot Wars, etc. all have little robot wedges flipping each other but Gundam Wing has massive, beastly machines kicking the crap out of each other. That's my summary of the show.

The characters within the cartoon are all very unique and twisted in their own way. The five different characters all have individual plot lines, backgrounds and storylines. Of course for it to be one cartoon their paths must cross at points but that only adds to the cartoon. My favorite character was Zex. If you watch the cartoon through all at once you will soon begin to share my excitement. In short, Zex owns.

The general storyline is there are the good guys and the bad guys that fight all the time. Some how it seems every 4-5 episodes each side changes but in general terms stays the same (good vs. bad). The reason Gundam Wing makes such a simple repeating plot interesting is the fact that the Gundam pilots don't always choose the 'good' side and sometimes are required to settle their differences on the battlefield. Gundam duels are sweetness.

Gundams are sweet machines. There are many pictures of the Gundams on the internet and can be easily found. Gundam Wing captures the idea of piloting these awesome machines and gives it a realistic feel. Jurassic Park is very unrealistic in my mind but the way Gundams are presented makes them seem like something that could occur in the next 100 years. Piloting a machine like that is every guys dream and I feel Gundam shows the strife and hardship one would feel being an elite Gundam pilot and the need for you to make a difference.

All in all Gundam is a very entertaining and emotional series. I would recommend it to anyone. The thing I dislike about the series is the fact that it is so long. 49 episodes straight takes a good 2 days to watch and by that time you think your names Hiro. The length makes the end of the series seem very repetitive but the first 20 or so episodes are VERY entertaining and exciting. If you like the Matrix or Battle Bots you will thoroughly enjoy this great anime.

8/10
