By Eric 9th May 04 Yup, it's Hamtaro. I sat through a few episodes. Ham-freaking-taro. I didn't give it a very good score, but why did I rate it exponentially higher than Big O and Sailor Moon? You're right, as I watched I thought "Man, this is stupid." However, I never thought "Man, this has no point" like I did with the other two series. Hamtaro certainly has a point. It's for kids. Little kids will crap their pants and giggle and clap their hands with glee at these cute little hamsters. It's not really an educational show, either...It doesn't seem to teach any lessons, and when it does it isn't really laid on thickly enough for some dumb six year old to pick it up. It's just a cute show for your kids or little brother or sister or whatever to watch. A lot of you probably already know the synopsis. A hamster living with his 10 year old owner (who's already growing breasts!) has adventures with other hamsters. Lame, isn't it. Of course it is, it's fo' da childwen. That's pretty much it. Unlike most anime, there's no continuing plot. There really isn't any need for one in a show like this. So why give this show a 6. It's annoying, but it's not utterly stupid. It has a reason for being. Hey, think of it like this. Maybe this will get today's children away from that damn Nickelodeon and onto the path of anime, a far superior form of art and entertainment. 6/10
