Most people who have watched anime, have watched Neon Genesis. If you haven't, what's wrong with you? Go and watch it right now, don't waste time with this review. If you are still reading this you must need a good reason to watch it. I was like you at one time. When I first heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion I payed no mind to it. I had borrowed a couple DvD's from a friend, in the lot was Neon Genesis. I just threw it aside and decided to watch Cowboy Bebop instead. (Also a good anime). Later on, I had nothing to do so I decided to watch Evangelion. As the opening theme started, lots of shit flashed by and I thought this wouldn't be too bad. After finishing the first DvD I found it wasn't too bad, but I only got up to about episode 8 before I quit watching. A few months later, I was talking to my friend, (the one that lent me Evangelion), and he had seen the whole series, and loved it. So I borrow once again the rest of the series. DAMN, it was a good show. Especially the kickass movie.

Neon Genesis Evangelion starts off with a boy name Shinji wandering around Tokyo trying to find some chick. After a strange beginning, Shinji is brought into some underground city to be recruited as a pilot of some sort. Meanwhile, a monster/alien/whatever the fuck it is, is attacking Tokyo. Later it is known as an Angel. Not the Angel you are thinking of, like I said, some monster. The same episode, Shinji is put into some mech-like "thing". THIS IS NOT A MECH ANIME. Now we got that clear. The "thing" is called an EVA, hence the name Evangelion. The EVA is set to obey what the pilot thinks and moves like in the EVA. Shinji then has to fight the Angel in his EVA. I will not explain the rest because it is too difficult to explain. It's like writing a review for Serial Experiments Lain for all of you that have seen it. Neon Genesis has a lot of shit to tell, and will confuse you at times so don't worry if you aren't getting it right away. Once again, THIS NOT A MECH ANIME. God forbid that mech type shows would ever be good. Later on, more EVA pilots are introduced. Two of them are Rei, a girl with a bandage fetish and Asuka, a hot tempered red head, damn, you'll see what I mean.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is by far the best anime show anyone could see. This will come as a shock, but there are no filler episodes. They all fit pretty good into the plot, or so I think they do. End of Evangelion is the most profound anime ending of all time. It will blow the shit out of you. There are two endings to Evangelion, one is episode 25-26 and the other is the movie, End of Evangelion. Also there is another movie, Death and Rebirth, for all those dickheads that weren't paying attention to what was going on, rather thinking about Rei in her bandages. The art is not bad, and the music is interesting. A little slow starting, but what else is new. I have talked to many people, and read many reviews about Evangelion, none to this day said that Evangelion was a bad show. Watch it, that's all I have to say.

10/10
