Yes, Ninja Scroll is the Anime/movie everyone knows and loves. Personally, I don't fully agree. I read two other reviews. Yes, Ninja Scroll is fairly high budget but that doesn't make a good movie. Example, Water World cost $20 million. Would I watch it again unless I was strapped in a chair with my eye lids pulled back, NO!! Ninja Scroll's not that bad. It lacks something I look for in all movies, Humour!! The only "humour" comes from Jubei's completely asshole remarks. Other then that the movie seems to be dry!!!

I'm not into the whole rape scene thing either. No, I'm not a fag I've proven my sexuallity it's just I don't like see some 500lb disgusting freak screwing some crying chick. Not cool!!!!

The whole movie itself gives me a generally eery feeling. Some movies you sit there rooting for the good guy or feeling good when the bad guy is getting rocked. In this movie everyone including the good guys are so cold you feel like your just watching somed strange blood bath. Very morbid.

Okay, Okay enough bad stuff. There is plenty of action. The bad guys are all unique. One demon has a hive in his back!! That is sick (amazing)!!! The fact that each enemy isn't just different sizes but also very unique I give the movie mad props. The fact that every character is so dark and evil including the "good guys" just ain't my thing.

The picture quality and animation are excellent. The ending was cool too it made all too much sense.

All in all it would have been the greatest anime in my books if it would have had intentional humour and wasn't always so dark and evil feeling. You need to be morbid sometimes but not for 93 minutes. Other then that the actions great, the plots decent, Jubei is classic, All the characters are beyond unique and the backgrounds are amazing. I feel I stand alone with my opinion but watch it yourself, you walk away feeling empty. But definitely it's a film worth watching and forming your own opinion because there are many out there who know of it and like it.
