Pokemon: The First Movie

I think this is one of the greatest children's films ever created. I was 15 when I saw it and I was also emotionally and mentally stimulated by the movie. It had so much meaning behind it; it was astounding that it was Pokemon!!! I was never really a big fan of Pokemon. When I babysat and watched it with the kids Brock was always very entertaining and the general idea of rats and plants pounding each other was also rather funny. The movie however teaches kids how fighting is wrong and hurtful.

I nearly cried when I saw the end of the movie. As I sat there next to balling kids I was forced to hold back the tears because "I was a teenager". I have never been this affected by a movie ever to honest. I've seen mass slaughters, rape, etc. they all just gross me out this I felt true sadness. I was rather amazed!!

The effects of the movie are more colorful and fast then usual but that only comes expected when the movie has a higher budget then most of the cartoons. A lot of the characters are very unique. As usual because it is Pokemon it had a lot of comic relief and the idea that was portrayed and desired to be understood was very straight forward and believable for all viewers.

I feel this is a movie I could show my kids one day even though they don't know or care for Pokemon. I feel that children and people for ages to come will gather the message from the movie that was portrayed.

All in all it's a good movie for everyone to watch. If you're looking for Rambo this isn't it but if you're looking for an easily understood, entertaining, healthy thought movie this is it. And remember you don't have to "watch 'em all" to watch the movie, you just have to have a love for life, nature and animals or want to gain that knowledge and care.

8/10
