21st May 04 If you haven't heard, Rurouni Kenshin is about a wandering samurai in the Magi era helping people when he can with his awesome sword fights. The Magi era was the conclusion of the Revolution between clans of people who wanted to create a new government. Here is the history before the Magi era; Kenshin was the most powerful warrior during the Revolution. Well, he actually served as an assassin and received a name for killing numerous numbers of people: The Battousai, Legendary Manslayer. All feared him, but during the near end of the Revolution he disappeared. Kenshin realizing his sins he swore an oath to never kill again. As for a payment for all the people he killed, he promised to help the weak and protect them from any harm now using his new weapon the reverse blade sword. Ten years later after the Imperialists (Kenshin's clan) won the Revolution he appeared in Miss Karou's martial arts school. Miss Karou having troubles because there is another man, who claims to be the Battousai, is out on the streets using her school's technique to kill people. Kenshin comes and helps her fight off the fake Battousai and explaining his own Identity.
Well that is basically the first episode; the rest of the gang comes along fast. In all the episodes he is very fair and tries to avoid battles unless he is forced. It is very important to watch his eyes throughout the series. -- Some Advise
I won't give you the rest you'll have to watch that yourself. It is a great action Anime piece, except in some place it stalls to put the good stuff on the next episode and some things that should be realistic aren't. There is some humor, it really changes the drawing. The music is wonderful and the drawings are okay because in the beginning it sort of sucks, later on it gets much better. So overall I have to give it an 8 out of 10. I would give it an 8.5, but I don't think I'm aloud to. Well, stop sitting around. Go watch it! 8/10
