Sakura Diaries
By KRis 23rd May 04 If incest is straight up your ally, I'm sure you'll accept Sakura Diaries with a warm embrace. For the rest of us normal people, incest is a topic of disgust. Ya, I know that two anime characters can in no way really related since well, they're fake. But still, just having the idea of it floating around watching these two sick fucks was bad. I know in Japan, this might be normal, but come on, WE aren’t living in Utah. Urara has always had a crush on her older cousin Touma. I guess she hasn't gotten over it over the years. Now Touma just moved to Tokyo looking to enter University, yet somehow, he doesn't make it. At the entry exams, Touma falls in love with another applying student Meiko. (Bear with me on the confusing name raffle here). Meiko appears to not be interested in any guys that aren't in University, and that of coarse is a problem for Touma since he didn't make it. But what ever happened to Urara? Will she confess to Touma (her cousin if I haven't said already), her true feelings? Will Touma ever be able to tell Meiko the truth? Will I ever be able to stop this pointless questioning because I have to fill this review with crap? Sakura Diaries is utter and complete bull. Given a few funny parts, the plot/storyline was plain stupid. Love triangles are such an overused idea it's not even funny, to the point where the only stuff that uses that idea is hentai, as we all know has no story what-so-ever. There is enough fanservicing to make your eyes hurt. Why can't Urara find someone outside her family? I can remember one part where the two were playing a nice family game of strip poker, Urara would think it would be good if she did a little flashing of the skin which provoked Touma to force himself on her which can only be described as attempted rape. I'm sorry folks, pass this one up…please! Now here's the part where Sakura Diaries gets its few points. Great animation, the character designs as well as the background scenes were well done. The music was also nice to listen to. Given the animation, music and a rare funny scene, Sakura Diaries is a show for the mildly retarded. If you liked this, I recommend….some sort of hentai or a psychiatrist. -- Caution 3/10
