After the events of the start of this one you’d wonder why the gang seems to be so kicked back after what just happened.

It’s been sometime since the events of Galaxy Angel Beta, but that’s covered in the first review of this series (so jump back and check it out). Long story short we have a brand new gang of Angels, who replaced the old team and (in some cases) are related to them. Milfeulle’s sister Sakuraba is here, as well as the “daughter” of Vanilla (Nano-Nano)… only she was kidnapped with one the Emblem Frames (Brave Heart) last issue… and no, it’s pilot is not Mr. Drunken Anti-Semitic Man (aka Mel Gibson)… just as Milfeulle vanishes (they lose contact with her)… oh, and Mint’s with the team but it looks like she’s fallen to the dark side of financial greed because she has even (seemingly) given up her love of cosplay. That is evil.

It seems the one who stole Brave Heart and Nano Nano is Mint’s pawn Anise, who ends up becoming a member of the team after they catch up to her and her ill gotten “gains” just as she was being betrayed by the person who “employed” her to steal the Emblem Frame. Just as well because, as it turns out, she has an Emblem Frame all her own which means she was destined to be on this team (just I don’t trust that it was Mint’s plan all along for this to come about since she’s been acting mondo weird lately).

Relationship problems amongst the team suddenly becomes the order of the day after the return of their lost teammate, especially since formerly lost teammate Nano Nano seems to have suddenly developed a weird attachment to her former “captor” (now new teammate) Anise, even going so far as hanging around her often and calling her boss… how weird.

Relationship problems, however, has to be tossed on the backburner because it looks like another one of the old team is about to go crazy and become evil… now let’s see… Mint is money crazy, Milfeulle is good, Vanilla is Vanilla (and that’s all that needs to be said) and Ranpha is not the one… so who does that leave… find out next time.

Are you getting into Broccoli Books’ Galaxy Angel series? You should be.
Kanan continues to do good work. Nice writing, nice artwork, nice overall. Now I guess I have to work on getting this Galaxy Angel Rune DVD to review. As for this? Galaxy Angel II continues the series well, and comes up with a rather disturbing twist of the knife for it’s cliffhanger ending… guess we have to wait until next time to see how this resolves itself. Otherwise Galaxy Angel II Volume 2 gets a 4 out of 5.
Because I said so that’s why.
