Yes, it’s time to look back at the origins of Gold Digger as we peer into it’s first stories and Gold Digger Volume 1, the origin of it all. And yes, if it sounds familiar that is because it is also the basis of the first Gold Digger Animated Series (TimeRaft). Look at Timeraft the OAV, then look at Timeraft the original Super Special Manga, and realize just how different the series looks. And yes, I can now say that Gold Digger Timeraft OAV and Gold Digger Super Special (the manga version) are two entirely different beasts altogether. Once you compare the two you can’t help but notice the differences.

After that let’s go back to the city of El Dorado for the first time (for the readers), and find out just how fast (warp speed fast) Britanny and future husband material Stripe (name is longer but let’s not try to go into that) get it on…it’s fast. Oh, and this is the battle to free El Dorado from it’s original woes (which is brought up in future volumes but you might as well read it here first). Oh, and Penny and Ace are here too (and thus the start of the long long wedgie war between the two that’ll go on and on and on forever.)

There’s another big adventure after that, but let’s jump ahead to the first visit to the Library over in Shangri-La and that bald Khan dude… (bleah)… I’m just getting over this damn cold so I won’t torment you with another Ricardo Montalban reference. Sniff. Anyway, where was I… oh, right, the whole why Empress Lynn hates Gina to death thing.

Well, this is about as good a time to figure that out as any, since it happens here.
Now from her next appearance I came to the conclusion she caught Gina and Khan together. Really.
Actually from all appearances it looks like she’s got a mad-on against Gina because she… she…
She mostly just caught herself in bed with Gina. Groping her. Lesbian style.
Things will not go well for the rest of the story no matter how many (or how few) Gina/Lynn slash fics are out there to date. And no, I never wrote any of them. I only did Sakura/Tomoyo, promise.

Wrapping the story?
After a little incident where Gina walks in on Britanny/Stripe almost making out, and Brits goes beastial on her and almost kills Gina… well, this is about as good a time for Round 1 between Britanny and Jetta (which sets the stage for what I reviewed previously).

OK. That’s it since I’d rather you buy the book and read it yourself. Really.
Breakdown shall again be brief.
I think I’m going to run out of words soon to describe my approval of the works of Fred Perry.
Doesn’t the score of 5 out of 5 say enough? Fine. With nice artwork (watch the origins of the series and the artwork at the start as it begins it’s evolution upwards and upwards), solid writing, and great story (even if I am not the most entranced with Timeraft) rounds out another 5 out of 5 effort from the Golden Age of Gold Digger (it’s basic origin point). Gold Digger Volume 1 (the beginning of it all) gets 5 out of 5.
